Wrapping up my wedding season rush ~ What I've learned this year.

So 12 weddings in a 2 month period. I DID it! Time to breathe, finish stuff and catch up on my personal projects. I've been thinking long and hard about the blur that was my summer and what I've learned...

- Not everyone is going to LOVE every picture I take. Photography is an art and art is a very open ended word. I'm so glad people take such exquisite care in choosing their wedding photographer, I'm glad I've been blessed to shoot for amazing people who love what I can do for them.

- I've found that the people who are the "trouble makers" in every wedding party are usually the most fun to banter with :) (this means YOU Nick, Spencer, Tequila Mike etc..)

- I need to stop falling in love with every groom I shoot! Such NICE people on their wedding day when they are in the best most wonderful moods!!! For that matter I need to STOP falling in love with the gorgeous brides too because after all... they are married now.

- I've also found that as the photographer I am also the; wedding dress do-er upper, go to person for boutonniere locations, boutonniere attacher, master bustler, seamstress, grounding element for panic-stricken people, makeup applier, hair fixer and in general the "what would we do without you" person. I love that.

- One of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten was this past weekend for the best man at Rob & Maya's wedding.. "I like her, and then I want to punch her in the face but I still really like her!" in regards to my "let's gitter done" attitude.

- I'm so flattered when asked to stay and party with these couples, "best friend for the day" is my other job title. However after a 12 hour day I am EXHAUSTED! so I usually don't.

- I love my job.
